Periods of chronic or traumatic stress reshape your nervous system so that it quickly moves into fight, flight or freeze when you’re under pressure, and takes much longer to return to a stable baseline. This leads to emotional and physiological dysregulation, affecting your moods and emotions, as well as your physical health.

WHAT IS THE VAGUS NERVE?


The vagus nerve is the superhighway of the mind-body connection: a bundle of nerves which runs from the brain all the way to the colon, touching every major organ along the way.

Jessica Maguire

Nervous System School’s founder, Jessica Maguire, began her career as a physiotherapist. Over many years, she realised that nervous system dysregulation was the source of many of the chronic health conditions presenting daily in her clinical practice. Jessica became inspired to give her patients the tools to heal the root cause of their issues, rather than just treating the symptoms.
