WELCOME TO NERVOUS SYSTEM SCHOOL
Nervous system dysregulation can be the root cause of many health issues including chronic pain, autoimmune issues, gut disorders, depression, anxiety and burnout.
Our life-changing courses give you the tools to regulate your neurobiology and repair these chronic health issues from the inside out, rather than just treating the symptoms. We teach not just the practical exercises (the 'how") but also the scientific rationale (the 'why').

WHAT IS THE VAGUS NERVE?
The vagus nerve is the superhighway of the mind-body connection: a bundle of nerves which runs from the brain all the way to the colon, touching every major organ along the way.
Practices to improve its functioning build stress resilience, so that when you face challenges or conflict and become activated, you are able to quickly return to a healthy, balanced baseline. This in turn reduces the stress load on all the other systems of the body.
Learn how to improve the functioning of your vagus nerve.
FREE RESOURCES FOR YOU
Sign up for our free training lessons to learn more about your nervous system.
You'll receive instant access to a video tutorial and a worksheet for personal reflection.

Your voice can be a portal to accessing what's known as the Social Engagement System of your vagus nerve. In response to anxiety or despair, your vagus nerve changes both your nervous system and your voice. This is the state that primes you for communication and connection.
Learn more about how we can use our voice as a doorway to understanding the nervous system in our free lesson.

Do you find yourself reaching for your phone when you feel anxious? Our phones can be powerful tools to help us navigate life, but they can also take a toll on our nervous system and wellbeing.
Learn why this happens, and how to choose behaviours that provide true regulation instead of artificial relief, with our free training (incl. worksheet).

Shame itself is protective and helps us to learn prosocial behaviours – what is acceptable to the tribe or group and what is not. However, if shame occurs regularly and without a sense of connection and belonging, it can become chronic.
To reshape our system out of shame, we can learn to befriend these sensations. Discover more in our free lesson.

Meet the Founder
Jessica Maguire
Nervous System School’s founder, Jessica Maguire, began her career as a physiotherapist. Over many years, she realised that nervous system dysregulation was the source of many of the chronic health conditions presenting daily in her clinical practice. Jessica became inspired to give her patients the tools to heal the root cause of their issues, rather than just treating the symptoms.

We believe if we’re going to have a healthy relationship with our bodies and if we’re going to be able to work effectively with our nervous system’s responses, we have to really understand how it functions.
This is the purpose of Education = Regulation. You can start learning a framework for nervous system-informed work. There’s no cost to join and everyone’s welcome.
